From Naples to Rome by Train. Landscapes Outside the Window

Trains to Naples departed from Termini station starting from half past five in the morning and until late at night with an interval of 10-20 minutes. Travel time from one hour and a half to two and a half hours, ticket prices from 11.80 to 59 euros, depending on the type of train and class of car. Buying tickets in advance (on the website Trenitalia.com), you can save a lot - I took for 3 months for 19 euros, my train was poisoned at 10:20 and reached Naples in an hour and a half. Reservations for this route do not need to be composted anywhere - just show the ticket collector a printout of the electronic ticket, many simply show the ticket on the phone display. I was traveling in a 2nd class car, and I was satisfied with the comfort - tables, electric sockets at each seat.

Just outside Rome, a large section of the Aqua Claudia Aqueduct can be seen on the left side of the train.

Closer to Naples, the density of buildings has increased markedly.

Rural cemetery with family tombs of various sizes.

After a little over an hour, the suburbs of Naples are already flashing outside the window. The development is new, the neat houses are not at all like the shabby buildings I saw on my first visit to Naples in April 2011.

On the outskirts between the residential areas there are many small workshops and shops specializing in building materials and decor, including vegetable ones.
